When You Try To Be Everything To Everyone On eBay, You Become Nothing To Everyone

Just like any other business, eBay is no exception when it comes to specialization.

In fact, you are better opening different stores on eBay dealing with different things than to mix them together unless they are related.

You cannot for example sell shoes and tires. I know it takes courage to turn away paying customers but sometimes that is what you have to do.

By generalizing your business you become a junk of all trades, your bids will suffer dramatically, and if you are able to make it you will not be as much as when you are specialize in one area.

You want your business on eBay to be as easy as possible but when you are selling everything to everyone, you will not command the respect of any particular area. Remember when people see you selling shoes they always assume you are making them. I get this question all the time-”When will you make another set”

They have no idea I am running my business from my spare room and half the time I do not know who makes what I sell. To them my business is memorable because they can remember what I sell whenever they see my business logo.

When you are starting on eBay, it is okay to be a master of all trades but at a certain point it is important you specialize if you want to get rich fast.

You can throw in some holiday merchandise or valentine but just for a short while but do not stick with it because you will end up lowering the value of your products.

Most customers enjoy combined shipping and so if you are selling related items most people will bid high so they can just buy from you instead of buying from three different people.
